Set up your gear inventory in minutes

ShotPrep is designed to get out of your way. Add your gear, build templates for the shoots you repeat, and let the app handle the checklist so you can focus on the work.

Add your gear

Tap the + button on the My Gear tab. Scan a barcode to auto-fill product details, or type everything in manually.

Organize into bags

Create bags that match your real cases -- Pelican, backpack, roller. Assign gear and print a QR label for location check-in.

Build loadout templates

Create templates for recurring shoots. Before you leave, run a pack session to check off every item.

Common questions

  • How do I add gear without a barcode? +
    On the Add Item screen, skip the barcode scanner and fill in the details manually. Every field accepts free text. You can also attach photos directly from your camera roll.
  • Does ShotPrep work offline? +
    Yes. Fully offline-first. All data is stored locally. iCloud sync is optional and automatic -- if you lose connectivity, the app works exactly the same.
  • What is ShotPrep Assistant? +
    A free companion app for a second person to join your pack session. They download it free, tap "Join Session," and connect directly over Bluetooth or local Wi-Fi. Requires the main ShotPrep app on at least one device.
  • What printers are supported? +
    Any AirPrint-compatible printer. Label sizes are optimized for Brother QL and DYMO. Tap the printer icon from any item or bag detail view.
  • How do I export my inventory? +
    From the My Gear tab toolbar, tap "Export Inventory" for a full PDF or CSV. You can also export single-item sheets or kit sheets with insurance totals.
  • How does iCloud sync work? +
    When signed into iCloud, ShotPrep syncs automatically across all your devices. Nothing to configure. Falls back to local storage when offline.
  • Can I use ShotPrep on iPad? +
    Yes. Universal app with sidebar navigation on iPad. Data syncs via iCloud.
  • Is there a subscription? +
    No. One-time purchase of $6.99. No recurring charges, no feature gating, no account required.
  • How do I get a refund? +
    Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, find ShotPrep in your purchase history, and follow the steps.
  • How do I contact support? +
    Email support@pinerophotography.com. Include your device model and iOS version if reporting a bug.
